FFS (Form-Fill-Seal)

It is the most common and important form packaging for food products.

It consists of packaging created at the same time as the filling operation, using material on a roll, on very fast automated machines referred to as form-fill-seal machines (FFS).

The forming process is the same as that used on thermoforming equipment (see the “Thermoformer” section on this site) that is fairly versatile and provides the option of producing trays on the FFS filling lines.

These types of packaging are used in various versions for all types of foods: liquid, solid, powdered, fresh, pasteurised, sterilised, vacuum-packed food, food packaged in modified atmosphere, etc.

This technology allows to reach a residual Oxygen inside the package of less then 0,2%.
